History: Wiki
Personality:
Claire, also known as Vino, the Rail Tracer, Felix Walken, and a ton of other pseudonyms, is a freelance assassin. His calling card of sorts is his affinity of leaving horribly mutilated blood covered corpses in his wake. In full on kill mode Claire basically becomes an unstoppable demon-like force that doesn't stop until every last target or who he sees as a bad guy is dead. Not many survive to see his demon side go back into hiding. Those that are lucky enough to live can only compare him to the devil himself. This is just one why he's called upon by the Gandor Family or anyone as a last resort.
Even though he's a complete monster when he's on the job, the man still has a few standards. Unless he's specifically told who to take the hit out on, he only targets people that have carried out unforgivable acts. Because of this he's not entirely above harming women and really bratty children if they did something to get on his bad side but only if they did something wrong such as try to make deals with the enemy or hurt someone he cares about. Regardless, he calls this being all for "equal rights".
Off the job however, Claire's pretty unassuming and doesn't stand out much from all the other colorful people of New York in the '30s. He's an outgoing if not slightly aloof young man with a tendency to be a little brat. Most of the time he's hard to motivate and sometimes comes across as having a slight touch of Attention Deficit Disorder. Other times he's cheerful if not slightly over dramatic. To put it simply, the man is a little kid trapped in a 20-something year old body who also has a job killing people. Then again, this is probably to be expected for someone who had Peter Pan as role model as a kid.
Claire's logic seems to be it's own entity entirely. Sometimes he makes a lot of points, but most of the time flies right by them. For example he asked the only other woman who he had spoken with on two occasions about love advice because he thought that all women were experts on that sort of thing. Then there was the time he thought that by putting something on Firo's tab because he thought he'd come looking for him to get his money back. Spoiler: he didn't. And lets not forget that this is the guy that will take any compliment, even backhanded and sarcastic ones. His logic knows no bounds.
Even though he's an assassin with otherwise flawed logic, used to spar with a bear regularly to train his body into taking hits, and does death defying stunts he's one of the first to tell someone not to try what he does. It doesn't come across as being contradicting but instead it's quite sincere. He just doesn't want anyone hurting themselves doing things like putting themselves at risk by blowing themselves up along with their enemy while their girlfriend looks on, playing open scissor five finger fillet, or misusing poison.
One thing doesn't change on or off the job is his solipsism. Claire likes to go on and on about how the world is his and was made specifically by him so much that his close friends can practically finish his sentences for him. As a self proclaimed creator of the world, he seems to view everyone as figments of his own imagination. For example, if he were to die everyone else would disappear and he would be left alone in the world of his own creation. It's still unknown if he always thought like this or if he just grew into this mindset as some sort of defense mechanism for dealing with all the hardships he had to go through as a kid.
Even though the origins of his solipsism are vague, there was once a time back in the circus where he felt the circus (especially the tightrope and the trapeze) was a world made specifically for him. He enjoyed all the applause he was getting performing his feats but at the same time the cheers and praises weren't enough for him. This made him want to push the boundaries even farther and improve himself to the point of "seeing what was past the sky". This in his own words was what it truly means to be himself. This euphoric feeling was mostly because he believed the audience knew how much effort he put into his stunts.
Claire's major pet peeves is being called a genius. He believes the word negates any effort someone might have put into something. Genius to him is just another word for lazy. His talents have been being explained away by just this simple word and he doesn't think it's fair. Just because he's a fast learner doesn't mean he's magic. He still has to learn something and then practice something first to be good at it just like everyone else.
He's also pretty indifferent about being an assassin. Though he kills people for a living and has extensive knowledge of torturing people, he still thinks assassins are the lowest of the low and calls his torture knowledge an "occupational hazard" at best. If you call being one an honorable job with a straight face he'll quickly shut you up by slipping into the aforementioned demon mode.
His love life was almost non-existent before meeting Chane, his fiancee. He admits that he had never dated or been with a woman before. It wasn't like he was unlucky, he would just always confess his love to any hot woman he came across. He would propose to them, get shot down, and then move on to the next woman. After many harsh, but fully warranted, rejections you would think that he would be a broken depressed shell of a person, but nope, not Claire! He took all his rejections by these random women in stride because he knew someone better was waiting for him, and he wasn't exactly wrong. After meeting Chane he stopped with the random proposing all together. He's a pretty faithful boyfriend, slightly stalker-ish, but still faithful. He would do anything for her if she so much as asks. Even giving Chane the time to get comfortable around him instead of straight out forcing her to be in a relationship with him like his original plan was.
Over the years he's been know by a lot of things; currently he goes by Felix Walken. This is mostly because Claire Stanfield technically died on the Flying Pussyfoot and his logic was since dead men can't marry he had to get a new name. The only person that can call him Claire, the name of his soul, is Chane despite her being mute. This however doesn't stop people that knew him before the train incident from still calling him Claire. Whenever this happens he usually passive aggressively corrects them.
After his parent's died when he was young his next door neighbor and don of a microscopic Mafia Family, Mr. Gandor, decided to take Claire in and raise him along side his three sons, Luck, Berga, and Keith. Because of this Claire is considered the unofficial forth Gandor brother by many. He treats the Gandors like they were his real brothers. Even taking it upon himself to join the circus and send his money back to them. Unfortunately by the time he made enough, the Gandor Family's business already started to pick up so his idea kind of fell through.
Outside of the Gandor brothers he's also has a strong friendship with Firo Prochainezo who also lived with the Gandors for awhile. Though he's not officially a part of his adoptive family, he's has always treated him like a little brother. He always used to tell him stories and gave him the books he read. He helped him by getting his brothers to let him join the Martillo Family.
During his time living with the Gandors, Claire always managed always get into brotherly fights with Berga. These fights got so big that they sometimes unintentionally hit Luck, Firo, or anyone else that got to close to them. As they got older, the fights died down a bit, but that still doesn't mean they don't still happen. Claire considers these quarrels exercise, Luck is so used to two grown men fighting that he's learned to tune most of it out, and then there's Keith, the oldest, who was the only one that could ever stop their fights.
Though Claire really enjoys pushing buttons and playfully teasing his brothers every chance he gets...there is one line Claire does not cross. That one line would be defying his big brother. He just can't bring himself to argue or talk back with his big brother when he knows he won't win it.

- Clothes off his back (Trench coat, turtleneck, etc.)
Abilities, Strengths and Weaknesses:
Where do I begin:
Superhuman strength: Claire at first glance really looks like he could barely lift 50 pounds. However, despite his unassuming figure he actually has some hidden muscle to him. He's also one of the, if not the, strongest characters in the entire series.
Great reflexes: He was an acrobat in the circus when he was younger. He has a ton of tricks up his sleeve including but not limited to dodging bullets, doing back flips on a moving train, pull people out of the windows of a moving train, and holding himself up by his legs from the back of a moving train. You get the idea.
He's also fast, blink and you miss him fast. This coupled with his ability to hide his presence made the Rail Tracer into the fearsome monster the stories made it out to be.
Stealth: He can hide his presence. He is literally the talking air.
Stamina: He can fight a bunch of people at once without ever breaking a sweat.
Mind over matter: If Claire believes he won't die, then he won't die that simple. This "king of the world" mentality has made him pull off the most insane stunts that either could kill or have a chance of killing a normal person.
Fast learner: As a child he put a lot of effort into learning new things. There was even a rumor floating around about how he could learn things that were taught to him near instantly and efficiently. This caused Huey Laforet to target him for his plans. Unfortunately, or perhaps luckily, for Claire...by the time Huey heard of this rumor he already left for the circus. The time that he spent there allowed him to hone is acrobatic skills, something that came rather handy in his later carrier choice.
Assassin skills: Sometime during or after the circus he became a freelance assassin taking jobs for anyone that is brave enough to hire him. He has the knowledge of almost every type of torture known to man, weapons, and whatever else comes with the job.
Empathy: He can read the slightest changes in people's body language and expressions. For example, despite Chane's inability to talk, he can still communicate directly with her like she can. He has also correctly guessed that Dallas and a couple other characters were hiding just by watching them closely.
Improbable weapon user: Three words: scissors vs. katana. The scissors won.
As far as weaknesses go:
Being human: Despite what he might say...Claire is still human and therefore can still die and stay dead. Though it might be a little hard to kill him with all his speed and skills, it's not entirely impossible if you can catch him off guard.
Seriously that's like his only weakness. He turns everything else that might be weaknesses on their head and uses them as strengths including his solipsism and recklessness. Okay, maybe he's also lacking in common sense a bit. But that's usually when it comes to love and family issues.

[Claire doesn't look phased in the least bit about the events that recently transpired the other day. In fact, instead of sounding wary of his new surroundings he sounds rather smug.]
One minute I'm happily ready to start my new life with my beautiful and charming fiancee. The next I end up in some place that I never seen fightin' for my life against...whatever that thing was.
[He shrugs.]
Given the choice, I'd definitely choose bein' back with Chane over bein' stuck in a place like this. But you know what? I gotta say this is quite the interesting town you got here. Could do without those monsters, but still pretty interesting nonetheless.
Oh, an' I don't normally do this since I like keepin' a low profile an' all, but since we're all stuck here I might as well say hi. My name's Felix Walken...sorry for not introducin' myself sooner...but you know how things are. Waking up in a strange place an' fightin' monsters kinda takes priority over gettin' to know people.

Claire decided to go and get some fresh air and look out at the lake. Despite reassuring himself that this place was just a spin-off of his life, something still bugged him. This was the fact of his new fiancee, Chane, was nowhere to be found.
I hope she doesn't think I abandoned her right after I proposed.
Before ending up in this hellhole he managed to track her down in a crowded city and reunite with her after the chaos on the Flying Pussyfoot. But not soon after their reunion, fate was cruel enough to separate them once again.
"Ugh...I'm not the type of guy that would do somethin' like that on purpose, honest." He said. "She's probably thinks I'm getting some sick joy outta toyin' with her emotions!" Claire wasn't aware that he started thinking out loud to himself. If anyone heard him they'd probably think he was crazy. Claire brought his hand to his face and gave a rejected sigh.
"Oh, Chane, what has this place done?"
After going through every possible scenario in his head of what she might do if he ever got back, he raised his head from his palm with a start. "Wait a sec…that's it!" He exclaimed, loud enough to cause a nearby cougar to let out a somewhat startled roar. "I just gotta find a way outta here before she starts thinkin' stuff like that."
Just as the words escaped his mouth, he realized there was a flaw in his plan. "Oh right…that invisible wall people keep talkin' 'bout. That might cause a problem."
He stood up and gave a small smirk to no one but himself.
"Then again, even if there's an invisible wall around this place. There's gotta be a way out if there's a way in. And I'll be the one to find that way!"
The way he saw it was that this place was just a dream within a dream that he was having and nothing more. Who cared if it was near impossible to break free, he was going to attempt it anyway. This plan of attack might have sounded farfetched to anybody but Claire himself, but he was not the type to loose hope of freedom so quickly. This idea, no this fact, wasn't so much out of fear or some coping mechanism but habit. It was simply something he chose to believe was true and so it was. After all his life was a long dream and this place was no exception…right?
